Waking up toddler

I still follow “never wake a sleeping baby” religiously for my toddler. But he’s been sleeping in later and then it kind of messes up our whole day with naps (him and baby sister don’t nap at the same time and they both nap in the crib so it’s kind of a dance to get them napping). Think I should have a set wake up? Or let him be? Hes playing so hard during the day I know he needs his sleep but he’s sleeping almost 2 hours later than normal

The "never wake a sleeping baby" thing is for newborns. From about 5/6 months you should start setting a routine. Your work with their development stages to help them sleep through the night and recuperate during the day. It's important for consolidation of learning and growth spurts.

We’re about to find out when we have to set the alarm so she can go to preschool! I think a set time will be good for her.

I try to avoid directly waking the toddler.... BUT I do start slowly giving clues that it’s time to wake up- starting with hall light on, then door open, lights on in his room, finally me going around his room putting away clothes/vacuum etc 😅 I never really wake him up but more along the lines of lights and noise to give him the clues!Yesterday grandparents came over and I swear he woke up to them talking in the driveway!

Our house is set up with two bedrooms upstairs and one down. The master is upstairs and I’m not comfortable having a kid down stairs. So I thought we’d have the kids share a room (2 1/2 and 1) but I think they’ll wake each other up yet. We had a full size bed in the toddler room, and so in February we got a tractor blanket for it and got him to sleep in it at night. It’s been hit and miss but he sleeps in it 98% of the time. No naps though, mainly because he gets out constantly 😂. So the 1 year old naps from 10-2, toddler from 1-3 and then 1 year old 3-4:30. It’d be nice to have them
