Thankfully much less painful and easier than I expected. But it dad a short labour and I have a high pain threshold generally

My first labor and delivery was absolutely nothing. The recovery was worse. 
My 2nd and 3rd labor and delivery were much harder and contractions were the absolute worst. Recovery was much easier. So guess it depends.

I had no epidural with my first and it hurt as much as I thought it would

I had back labor and jesus did it hurt way worse than I ever thought, even when I wasn't contracting

Okay so I didn’t want the epidural but I did end up getting it because yes the contractions do hurt more than expected. However, the pushing was the absolute worst part. Not because it was painful but because I was exhausted and almost passed out! The thermostat broke in my room so it was about 90 degrees. Everyone was sweating. I also have a small pelvis so it took a bit longer but my god I really cried out a few times saying I wouldn’t make it. The oxygen mask did not work. Made me feel claustrophobic!

Imagine your worst period cramps...now times that by 1000.  That’s what contractions felt like for me.

I had a non-medicated vaginal birth. I built it up so hard in my head that when the time came it wasn’t at the pain level I thought it would be. It was still very painful, but like an 8/10 on the pain scale. I really thought it would be the worst thing ever, but I’ve never broken a bone so how do I know if something else doesn’t hurt so much worse?? Lol

I’ve had menstrual cramps that hurt worse than labor did. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Contractions were ok, pushing was a mother fucker. He got stuck in my pelvis.
