Still can’t believe actual delivery was the easiest part of this whole pregnancy! 😆

Myesha • Mother to a beautiful son and currently ttc for baby #2 🥰

My son arrived yesterday through emergency induction due to him being borderline underweight. His weight gain was stagnant for a month since 35 weeks so on my 38the week appointment I was sent to the hospital to get induced. The induction process itself was super annoying since I’m extremely impatient. Mainly slow because the hospital staff took forever to take me in and then waited for my doctor to show up and all the useless stuffs. My cervix was completely closed and barely effaced so they started me on a low dose pill for dilation. Thankfully my husband and I took some random Lamaze classes online, they emphasized so much on going natural that I gained a super natural force to fight the contractions and opening the cervix fast by lots of walking, squats, and peanut ball stretches. I was dilated from closed to 2.5 cm. This wasn’t fast enough so asked for the foley bulb insert and repeated the exercises with the thing inside 😐. I dilated to 4cm after about three hours and was put on IV oxytocin. Within hours, my mild contractions became true contractions and I was dying in agonizing pain. My all natural pride vanished within seconds and asked for the epidural. From then on everything that happened felt like an out of body experience 😅. The fetal monitor kept showing intense contractions but I didn’t feel a thing. I was soon dilated to 10cm, half a cm every half hour! The nurse came in and we practiced pushing with my totally numb lower body. Placing a mirror during the labor was definitely weird but incredibly helpful. I focused solely on the opening of the vaginal area and pushed with all my energy as if I was extremely constipated but had to poop somehow anyhow 😆. Within just two hours, his entire head came out ( still traumatizes me 😬) and the doctor rushed to pull his body out. I was completely blank for a solid 10 minutes trying to figure out what had just happened! I was so worried about the labor and delivery especially the pushing part but it barely was anything and also the numbness smoothly went away right after delivery without any painful contraction reminders 😊. Throughout this pregnancy I believed there is no way I’ll ever want to have babies again but now after ending it with a bang its making me have baby fever again 😄!

Best of luck to all the ladies who will be delivering soon and congrats to everyone who already delivered 🥰. Though I should change to June 2020 babies, this group feels more keen ❤️ . Sending prayers for everyone!
