lower-sugar birthday cake recipes?

not necessarily these “smash cakes” i keep seeing everywhere (i mean, my boy eats like that anyway, i don’t see the point in giving it a special name/photo opportunity 😂😂)

but i’d quite like to make a cake that my wee guy can eat without having to worry he’s going to overload on sugar and get ill!

does anyone have any baby-friendly cake recipes they’re thinking of using, or have used? i’ve done a quick google but the ones i keep finding are gluten and dairy free too, but my boy doesn’t have a problem with those and i don’t really want to have to buy in ingredients i’m not going to find other uses for
