How long can I be 70% effaced?

Please forgive me for my stupidity lol This is my first pregnancy. After having contractions all night a few days ago, I went into L&D and was told I was 1cm dilated and 70% effaced. I know you can be stuck at a certain centimeter for weeks at a time, but what about effacement? I haven’t had any contractions since that night, just started cramping some this morning. How long could I be stuck at 70% effaced? (I’m 38 weeks)

I was 5cm and 60-70% effaced for almost 3 weeks. I went into labor at 39+2. Sadly, it doesn’t tell you how long you’ll have to wait. I’ve known people who weren’t dilated/effaced at all and have gone into labor and people who are that sit and wait🤷🏼‍♀️

I’ve been 70% effaced and 2 cm for over 2 weeks now. Still no baby
