Cyst in perineum and swollen lymph node

Has anyone ever had a cyst in their vulva or perineum that caused an inguinal lymph node to swell? I have a small pea sized cyst that is super painful. It has been there for roughly a week now and yesterday I noticed that I now have an inguinal lymph node that has swollen and is also tender. I got really scared and called the doctor and he ordered a topical antibiotic. Has anyone else experienced this? How long did it take to clear up?
