Is the phrase "don't ever change for a man" healthy?

So... I've been seeing many posts where women will tell other women to never change for a man and that a man should love you for who you are. Although i do agree that a man or a woman should love their partner for who they are, telling them to NEVER change for a man sounds kind of toxic and egotistical to me. Of course it depends on how you interpret it, but I just never liked seeing posts like this.

In a relationship, I believe that both parties should always be striving to be a better person for themselves and for their partner and work together to create a healthy and strong relationship.

Of course if the partner is telling you to get skinnier, thicker, have bigger boobs, be more submissive etc.. that's definitely a red flag but I don't see what is so wrong with changing yourself for the better with your partner.

When I was single, I had the same mentality of if you don't like me for who I am, then I am not dating you. But after meeting my current bf, I have became so much of a better person than I was before. He taught me how to love, how to look at things logically and not just act out of emotions, he influenced me to be super active and live a healthy lifestyle, I used to be a super diva and now I love that I can be comfortable without 5 pounds of make up (i still love make up but more secure with my bare face) and just enjoy life with the love of my life. On the other hand, he's now so much more affectionate, empathetic, patient and understanding and we learned so much from each other and we're constantly working at creating better versions of ourselves.

So instead of telling girls and women to never change for a man, I think we should be saying be with someone who loves you and makes you want to be a better person... or something like that.

I want to have kids so if you have other suggestions on what we should teach our daughters and sons instead of telling them to never change for a person, leave them in the comments below!
