H & R block asking for ssn/dob over email?

Hi, please don’t judge lol I’ve been bad about doing my taxes the last few years and I’m trying to clear it all up right now but I’m confused about why I’m being asked to send my ssn/dob and childs ssn/dob to the rep over email? It even says online that one of H&R Block’s tips is to never give out ssn over email.....Please tell me if this seems weird to you & what you would do:

No company such as h and r block will ask for your info over phone or email. Chances are this is a scammer and you shouldn’t trust it. If anything the IRS would get in contact with you and even then they wouldn’t ask for that info. I’m hearing scammers are at an all time high right now. Be safe

Absolutely not. Someone with all of that information would be able to easily steal your identity and serious screw you over. Call H&R directly if you are working on taxes at the moment (not the phone number from the email since that would just route you to the spammers). If this is out of nowhere, just delete it.

I wouldn't do it. I'd call them (find the number listed for their business, not the one in the email) and go from there.

NO NO NO... this is a scam. I can see grammar issues in the screen shot which is a telltale sign of scam email.

I would call your rep and provide the info over the phone. Look up the phone number somewhere official. That way you know that you are the one who called and that you are speaking to an official rep for H&R.
