Anyone have experience with a birth with AND without an epidural ?

I got an epidural with my first but I think I want to try to go all natural with my second. Pros and cons?

I cant speak on the epidural since I never had one with either of my births but I will say a natural birth is not as bad as I thought it would be. You just have to focus on one contraction at a time, find a comfortable position to labor in, and remind yourself it will be over eventually. That’s what i did. So of natural labor is something you’re interested in you can do it

I went completely natural
No pain meds, no epidural literally NOTHING!
And I was in labour for hours and pushed for hours too
The BEST! and best thing you can do is sit in the hot shower in the hospital and put the water on your stomach everytime you feel contractions coming 
They help a lot 
Good luck!!! And sleep as much as you can now cause you are gonna wish you slept in / early without a crying baby every hour 🤣

I learned that you are more likely to tear if you're on your back and numb than if you can move around freely. I tore with my 9 lbs 3 oz with an epidural but not with my 10 lbs 13 oz and 11 lbs 11 oz natural birth babies.

my epidural was put in to late i went numb in my pelvis just in time to be sewn up... after delivery... still deal with terrible
spinal pain in that spot too... 
but i was technically only on “morphine” or whatever they give you in labour 
while i was pushing... it honestly felt liek fire and ice at the same time i. the worst possbible way but inly until transition when pushing was soo relieving... i direceted my own labour as i could still feel everything abouve my knees at the time and i had her out in 20 mins id never wish a hours if pushing on some one with out medication so if your gonna do it drink a ton of organic red rasberry leaf tea one or two glasses a day to tine your uterus and birth canal best wishes!

I sort of had both? Basically got one and it was great for like half an hour and then my body was all ‘meh over it now’ and it stopped working. It was a shame too because my birth experience was 42h of back labour and I could really have done with a nap in there somewhere or at least another hour or two break from the crippling back pain but what can you do? 🤣😭

I have. I've given birth both ways. Naturally with my first. Epidural with my 2nd. Unfortunately, my epidural only worked to 50% & was considered failed. I could feel myself tearing. But, it did help ease contraction pain some. ( It was inserted wrong) But, even failing.... I'd choose epidural & never give birth naturally again.  Natural birth is the worse experience ever!  We are currently trying to conceive. I will be getting an epidural for my next birth.

I’ve had two births and now preparing for my third in October, I had no epidural with the two previous births and plan to have none with this not because am a hippy mum and like oh natural or anything I just explored other pain relief first I found morphine helped a lot and really took the edge off but wasn’t a fan of gas and air🤷‍♀️ I guess everyone is different and how much pain they can endure too, I’d definitely speak to your midwife about using other pain relief before an epidural is considered, if your low risk you can use the birthing pool aswel but that’s something personally I wouldn’t want in my own birth.
