My June baby turned into a May baby! I knew having a second baby that labor & delivery would be quick but I had no clue it would be THIS quick. The Thursday before I delivered I had my 38 week appointment & my doctor said I was at 4 cm dilated and she stretched me out a bit to get things going. I had bled a bit and was feeling shitty all night. I had a big dinner and was SUPER full and just crampy and super grouchy and uncomfortable. I had been pooping for days now and having weird stomach pains so I knew it would be any day now that we would be meeting our boy. The next day Me and my boyfriend we’re going to go take some pictures outside since I didn’t really take any maternity photos But I was still in a really grouchy mood so we decided to not do that today. Good thing we didn’t cause I was just laying in the bed and my water broke! That was about 1:30pm..no contractions, just a lot of leaking. I wasn’t sure whether or not I needed to go to the hospital since my first birth with my daughter I had contractions first and I didn’t want to be sent home so I had to contact the hospital to make sure it was okay to come in, they basically told me to hurry up and get there. So I called my mom over to come watch my daughter, picked up the house, got our bags ready. I told my mom not to rush though because I wasn’t having any contractions just yet. So fast forward we get to the hospital at around 2:30 And because of Covid I had to get checked into triage & get a delivery room before my boyfriend could be with me. We had no AC in our car (got it fixed) in the Arizona heat and bless his soul, had to sit in the car to wait. 2 hours later I started feeling contractions picking up But I still hadn’t got in a room because they were really busy that day and didn’t have any rooms available so I told my boyfriend to just go home but he didn’t wanna leave the parking lot. I kept asking how long to get a room and the lady kept putting it off and wouldnt call up to see if there was one available so I was getting frustrated cause I could feel my pain starting to elevate pretty quickly and I didn’t want my boyfriend to miss the birth of our baby! I was on FaceTime with him while he was outside and started to cry cause I felt bad he was so hot and I was in pain and just wanted to get situated in a room. so he walked up to the security guards at the front of the hospital and asked them to have my nurse call up to get a room before he had to come in there himself. A couple minutes passed and my nurse said that she still had no clue how long it was going to be so I started to get really upset and my boyfriend went back to the security guards and started to argue with them and telling them that we will go to another hospital if we need to (yeah right)🙄😂. I could hear him yelling and cussing at them to let him in while my nurse was in my other ear trying to talk to me and I was SO overwhelmed. I was trying to calm my boyfriend down before they didn’t let him in at all while going through contractions every couple minutes. I know he meant well 🙏🏼😂 he told me that they put theirs hands on his chest to stop him from coming in LOL I could imagine him getting hype out there which wasn’t so funny at the moment. About a minute later my nurse tells me that she got a room so I told my boyfriend to shut up and grab the bags to come upstairs. (Mind you this about 3 hours of being in triage) so at 5:30 pm my nurse is walking me to my room and I had to keep stopping in the hallway cause my contractions were PAINFUL. My boyfriend literally got there at a perfect time because I was at the point where I couldn’t talk, couldn’t walk, all I could do was scream. I asked for my epidural IMMEDIATELY so they set me up on a water bag that I had to finish before getting it. My contractions were excruciating at this point..like WAY worse than the first time I gave birth. My new nurse was telling my boyfriend to apply pressure to my lower back to help with the pain and I hit a contraction that made me yell at him “MORE FUCKING PRESSURE” Then they tell me that The anesthesiologist is in surgery and it’s gonna be about an hour to get the epidural..I started SOBBING. I was in SO much pain I couldn’t bare to wait any longer so they checked to see how far along I was. I’m not gonna lie I was probably one of the loudest people in that bitch and was screaming bloody murder every minute, the contractions were non stop 😂 it reminded me of a scene from that movie Knocked up. I was at 10 cm and his head was right there. I started thinking of how painful it was gonna be without an epidural and told them I would wait or to give me ANY pain meds But baby’s heart rate was dipping so they couldn’t give me anything. The nurses & my man kept encouraging me to just push and get him out and that I could do it so I finally caved and was like alright just get this baby OUT. They needed to put an IV in so they needed my bracelets off and I yelled at my boyfriend again “JUST FUCKING TAKE THEM OFF” 😝 they get the IV in and then I ask my boyfriend for some water and QUICK before another contraction hits and he runs and rips my IV out of my arm 🙄😂 I didn’t feel shit compared to how badly everything else hurt. 4 pushes later my son was in my arms and the pain had vanished completely. I literally couldn’t believe that I had done that without an epidural, I felt EVERYTHING. Let me just say that the contractions were probably worse than the ‘ring of fire’ though. Our bodies are truly amazing ladies, my body did it all so naturally for me! My boy was born after 4 hours of active labor at 6:30pm weighing 5 lbs 9 Oz. I’m so glad it all happened so quick cause I couldn’t imagine being in pain longer than I was but it was SO worth every minute. Definitely made me want to wait to have any more babies but I can’t wait to do it again one day ❤️ also to mention my boyfriend was absolutely amazing during all of this, I apologized for yelling at him afterwards. He’s seriously a great birthing partner 😌
