Does anyone babies play with household item?

Anyone has a LO that loves to play with household items such as cellphones, tv remote, or other items such as a box from a new toy. I have a 11 months old baby girl and a 3 years old niece and 18 months old nephew. And they all love to play with box, cellphones, clothes. My husband and me has brought so much new toys to try to stop this but they still prefer anything than toys. Yes, we have baby gates to dangerous area like kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry room. The house is baby proof and no cable laying around. But sometimes we have boxes, our phone, tv remote laying around that we forget by accident. We had baking day sometime and they just wants the bowls instead the cookies. Any tips on stopping your LO from playing with things that you don’t want them to play with? I completely understand that they are exploring their curiosity and mind. I love that they are baby genius and drives to learn everything they can.
