echogenic intracardiac focus: know anything about it?

Had my anatomy scan and was told to get tested for downs but that her ultrasound went good besides her left ventricle in her heart having echo?? They did say she was in the 77% percentile

My second baby had this and we later found out he had a VSD as well. I was monitored by a high risk doctor after that for the rest of the pregnancy. But we found out that everything had resolved once he was born - no heart defects or Down syndrome.

Yep, I was told baby has an EIF and echogenic bowel at my scan on Friday. I’m going to get a scan with a specialist next week just to double check it. Doctor wasn’t too concerned though since NIPT results were all low risk

I had this at my scan Tuesday! I’ve already done the genetic testing and she had no abnormalities. Since this was the only “soft marker” my doctor isn’t worried at all. It happens in normal pregnancies and usually resolves and causes no problems unless other markers are found. He called it an EIF or bright spot.

A echogenic foci in the heart is a marker for downs, but usually if that is the only marker found....chances for downs is very low.
