So I found out Im pregnant a couple weeks ago, I went to the hospital because I was having really bad pain and spotting, come to find out I have a bicornuate uterus and I'm just confused as to what it actually means like, what happens with my baby when it grows? Also found out my due date is February 14th, so heart shaped uterus and valentines day

My first baby with my BU made it to 39 weeks! I had to have a c-section due to the baby being breech. They tried to turn her, but the heart shaped uterus made turning really hard. No other complications.

I was diagnosed with a bicornuate uterus when I was 15. The heart shape increases the risk of miscarriage and preterm labor, but with close monitoring, prognosis is good! I had Bi-weekly ultrasounds from 20 weeks through 30 when everyone starts going biweekly anyway. They measured my cervical length via ultrasound to ensure it was still long. I did end up having a c-section because baby boy was transverse. Essentially, his head was in one “horn” of the heart and his feet were in the other, which meant he was butt down. There’s no way he was coming out on his own, but I mentally prepared for the c-section years ago so it wasn’t a big deal.  Let me know if you have any specific questions!
