Moving states while pregnant during COVID-19

Ma

I’m 7 weeks 4 days pregnant. Unfortunately I really need to move back to my hometown and don’t have many options. I plan on moving from Los Angeles to Iowa (my hometown) next week. I was planning on going the longer route through Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas to avoid high altitude because ive heard it can be dangerous for pregnant women to go through high elevation. The other option would be to go through Arizona, New Mexico, and Kansas. We planned on staying in Texas 2 times for our stops.

I recently saw online that COVID-19 cases are surging in Texas and am really worried about staying in Texas for 2 nights.

I’m wondering if anyone knows about early pregnancy and high elevations. Does it have the same effects when you’re so early in pregnancy? Will staying in states with really bad COVID cases be worse than just going through a higher elevation??

What can I do to prevent COVID during my trip?

I’m really scared here and could use any help.
