We started tummy time right after my baby was born. Laying on your chest or belly counts as tummy time! Now all of play time is basically tummy time at almost 7 months old. She rolls on her belly almost immediately when I put her down. I would do it 3 or 4 times a day every day since she was born and now she's trying to crawl. If baby starts getting mad, end it right then and try again later. It's super important that they get enough tummy time!

She won’t be traumatized snd she won’t be deaf or have damaged hearing (therapist here). However please don’t do it again. Things happen, but she will be fine if it doesnt happen regularly. Once she is over 2 you don’t need to do it at all. Children are able to retrieve memories after around 2-2.5. So ultimately, it won’t hurt it since it happened once and she is so young. But it doesn’t need to happen again, and if it does, definitely not after 2. Overall, if that happens more than once you need to review the relationship and boundaries anyway

My kids have all hated tummy time. I try to do it a few times a day and it’s usually only a few minutes at a time. Just do what you can. The first 2 months or so my kids have all just wanted to be held vertically so they’ve gotten strong necks that way. The other strength comes as they get older and more ok with tummy time. Don’t beat yourself up

Yes! Just do it in spurts. Most babies hate it so just do it til baby let's you know they don't want to do it anymore and a few hours later try again and repeat :)

It's recommended that it is done everyday but my LO hates it so while I try to do it as much as possible, I do not get to it everyday. The list of things we're supposed to do: reading, tummy time, outside time, bath, playtime plus feeding and trying to keep the house is relatively decent shape is too much to squeeze into one day, especially when sleep deprived. I do as much as I can as best as I can but no way to do everything all the time. So sometimes tummy time falls to the wayside honestly. Especially considering she hates it.

I very rarely did tummy time with my little one, not for lack of trying but she absolutely hated it and would scream until she was sick when placed on her front. She still progressed as expected. She sat up at 5 months, crawled at 8 months and walked at 11 months. If your little one likes it then do it as often as you can, but if they dont like it, dont put too much pressure on yourself.
