Baby fed every 2 hours

So my MIL watches my daughter everyday while I’m working from home. She’s been feeding her every 2 hours (sometimes 6 oz, sometimes 4 oz).

So back story - her and I just came off of not speaking for 2 months. It’s a tricky situation approaching her with things because she takes it as a personal attack.

Daughter woke up at 9 am and I fed her almost 5 oz of what I pumped. She had breakfast soon after. I heard my daughter fussing but not crying so I came upstairs to see if my daughter would calm down. Here my MIL was getting ready to make her a bottle at like 10:50 am! So of course I’m like “maybe let’s not feed her right now. She just ate less than 2 hours ago.”

She said “well she was sucking her thumb a lot so I figured she was hungry...”

Basically what I’m trying to figure out, is every 2 hours a bit much?
