Boyfriend advice

Hey y’all.

I’ve been living with my boyfriend for about 6 months now. While we are still struggling with the basics, like who unloads to dish washer, vacuum, laundry. Ya know the usual. Things are getting pretty bad. He been starting to get almost territorial? I’m not sure if that’s the right word. Every time I go out with friends, giving him names and where we are going, he always accuses me of lying to him. It becomes a huge ordeal. He gets extremely nasty and verbally abusive. Saying he knows more than I think he does. That I have my location on so he knows I was lying about where I was. Which isn’t true because we don’t share locations and I don’t make my location public on anything. Not for the means of sneaking around, I just don’t feel comfortable with people being able to track me. He makes up all this stuff like “HA GOTCHA” then I show him literal recipes and card charges from the places I said I was going and SURPRISE actually went. That doesn’t even calm things down. He will then proceed to say I lied about who I was with and where I went after. Saying that he as proof. But will never show me or tell me what this proof is.

What I’m wondering is if this is an issue I should stick around with and try to work on. Or just leave. From what I’m getting out of all of this is that he’s just insecure or jealous? Everything was fine for the few weeks I wasn’t going out or seeing friends at all. There’s no history of either of us cheating or talking to someone of the opposite sex inappropriately. I’m just at a loss.
