Did and get their membrane stripped? Was it worth it? What did it feel like?

My doctor offered to strip my membrane next week, noting there is not guarantee that is will make things move. But she said it was up to me and we could also just wait. I'm hesitant for a few reasons (mostly because my parents and in-laws are still in my face almost every day so I don't actually feel like I have time and I keep hoping baby doesn't come until a day where I am left alone for four seconds. Which is horrible feeling, to feel like you don't have time to give birth because people won't leave you alone and giving you to do lists...) but I am also wondering what it feels like? Did it work for any of you? Maybe I'll have it done not this week but the next (I'll be 40 weeks then anyways).
