STMs: did anyone tear worse?!

Question

I had a 2nd degree year with my first and this baby feels like he’ll be born sunny side up so I’m worried about tearing again, but worse! For those of you that have had two babies—was it worse for your second or better?!

I had a second degree tear with my first and didn’t tear at all with my second!

I had a “second” degree tear with my first (but I think it was worse than that. I lost count of my stitches and hemorrhaged and then my stitches wouldn’t hold). I had a third degree tear with my second but it didn’t hurt NEARLY as bad, recovery was markedly easier. I just had my third and had a slight first degree tear.

Baby's position and the pace they will come out has a great deal to do with tearing.
My sister had I think an easy first degree tear with her first, but her second went very differently. He came out doing the superman: practically flying out with one hand forward in a first. That's, let's just say, not quite ideal. He tore her up from cervix to perineum and she had a difficult time recovering.
On the other hand, there is an actual statistic that says first vaginal birth comes with worse and more frequent tears than second or more timers. Of course there are exceptions, but it means your chances are good!

My 1st gave me the worst tears. My second was a little tear and 3rd which was a bit bigger baby then the 1st two gave me 3 little 1 stitch  tears nothing serious.

I had first degree tear with my first and no tears at all with my second child.
With my first daughter recovering from the tear was painful. With my second child recovery was quick and little to no discomfort. Just had to deal with the long postpartum bleeding.

I had a second degree with both, but the second wasn’t quite as bad, and I honestly feel back to normal less than 5 days post partum. With my first I was swollen and really sore for at least a week, and my first bowel movement was straight out of a horror film.

Had a pretty big episiotomy with my first, and a 1st/2nd with my baby girl who will be 4 weeks old tomorrow, I’ve recovered so much quicker this time round, for the first two weeks or so I did have to have paracetamol and ibroprofen because I had spd, but other then that I’m back to my normal self, just waiting on the okay from my dr to start exercising 😊
