Sip and See?

My husband and I haven’t announced our pregnancy except to immediate family because of previous losses...
I am 24 weeks and because of the uncertainty around Covid we are thinking of doing a sip and see at a much later date instead of a baby shower.  How do I respectfully announce/ send our registry without hosting a baby shower?

Personally i would do a drive by shower and make goody bags for everyone! October is start of flu season rsv season and most likely the second wave of covid the last thing you want it’s everyone in your house to see the baby. Your safer having a shower right now then doing that

What is a sip and see?

Personally I am doing a sip n see in October but for us flu season doesn’t start until November really anyway. However I’m only inviting close family and friends that I know have followed guidelines, and thankfully where I live we’ve not had many cases at all. I just didn’t want the hassle of having two baby showers (my dad’s family is in Indiana and my moms family is here in VA) so I figured a sip n see was a better option. Do whatever you want! If you’d rather have a sip n see, do it! If you kinda like the idea of a drive by shower, do that! As for posting the registry, what I did was just basically say that for my VA friends and family I wasn’t doing a baby shower, but would be doing a sip n see in October and was providing the link to my registry if anyone would like to purchase anything, but not to feel obligated to 😊 hope that helped, sorry it was a little all over the place. 😂

A virtual one might work? 
We didn’t, but we lived far away and had many people ship larger items to us We had my firstborn’s registry to ship amazon gifts as “baby (last name)” so we knew if we should open it or not. I ended up opening them and shared a slide show of pictures at the actual shower. But in this case if you know what packages are for the shower you could put them to the side and then open them on a group video call? Or have them set up in the nursery and give a tour and thanking people for what they gave as you show off the various items?
