What’s everyone recommend? No clue where to even start there’s so many and most online reviews are just negative 😓 I’ve seen people say that some insurance covers a few brands but I don’t know if that’s a thing in Canada and I haven’t looked into my insurance yet

What do you plan on using it for? 
Do you plan to breastfeed? If so, you may not really need one all that often. Presumably, since you are in Canada, you won’t be working for a while, so you can nurse as needed. 
I was given an electric pump and a whole bunch of bottles and so far have barely used them. For me, this Haakaa pump works fine for what I need. It’s basically a big suction cup that goes on your breast. I like it better than the electric pump because it’s mega easy to use and clean. It’s also super cheap. I haven’t tried it enough to say if it would be good if you plan to use it for each feeding. You might want something with more power...
I’m not sure if insurance companies in Canada cover pumps. I’ve never heard of it.
