2nd pregnancy, should I try natural birth after csection?

Question

1st delivery was 13yrs ago via emergency csection due to me not dilating and i was wondering if I should try for natural this time. Doctor says that there are more risks and that this baby might be bigger than my first (she weighed 9lbs 6oz). 
I don’t know if they just rather me do that because they can bill my insurance more or because it’s easier. I’m not sure. Any of you ladies done natural after csection?

so most drs dont like to see babies over 9 pounds for a vbac, however, with how far apart your last csection was, I'd be looking for a second opinion(just in case)

Vbac is safer than a repeat c section for you and baby. Sadly though in America they like c sections because they make more money and they are easier for doctor. But not safer for mom. I’d definitely do some research for yourself and decide what you think is best for you then find a doctor that supports it. So many doctors have an agenda and don’t actually want what is best for YOU. Which is why we have some of the highest birth mortality rates here for a developed country 😥 it’s truly sad. ACOG actually states a vbac is even safer that a repeat c section even after having 2 prior c sections.

Hi hi so my first was a c section and baby was 9lbs 3oz. I’m currently pregnant with my second and my doctor said based on my first pregnancy and labor a good candidate to try for vbac (progressed to 10, pushed, no health issues, etc). I did have to sign a waiver acknowledging all the risks related to vbac after c-section because you can have a higher rate of uterine rupture and other things. They also cannot induce you due to the medication causing higher risks/complications. Good luck in your decision and hope everything goes well!!

Personally I’d listen to my dr if they were saying I wasn’t a candidate for a Vbac. If you don’t trust your dr to be honest with you then you should probably find a different dr!

Following because I’m in the same situation. Had an emergency csection in 2017, and my second comes in april 2022, I also want to try for vbac but my doctor was quick to tell me that a lot of times that doesn’t work but that we can try. 
I’m considering finding a midwife when I get closer to the end of my pregnancy to see what can I do to make my this vbac happen. My baby was only 6lbs so hopefully this other babys weight wont be much of an issue.
