I successfully did a water fast or true fast where I only drank water for 20 days but I did a lot of research and preparation before and had no preexisting health issues aside from some excess weight.  I don't think there are any benefits to denying your body water for any amount of time as it literally impacts your body's ability to function and keep you alive.

I think it just depends on your body, I went 7 days without food or water and it was terrible. Trying to get back to normal after is painful, really everything was painful. I wouldn’t suggest it.

Denying your body water for even 24-36 hours sounds like a great way to end up dehydrated in the hospital.
