Which iron drops ?

For other exclusive bf moms my babe is almslt 6 months which iron vitamin r u using ? I’ve started solids but not everyday trying to get time for it is hard 
I didn’t like the enfamil one so much stain on clothing

Never heard about giving iron to babies, only D-vitamin...

Do not give an iron supplement unless blood labs have been ran and baby is deficient in hemoglobin. There is NO need for iron supplements if labs haven’t been ran. 
Too much iron can be an issue and you have no idea where hemoglobin levels stand. Just give iron rich foods. 
My 7m old has blood drawn every month for a condition where she’s had blood transfusions. Her specialist hematologist (blood dr) hasn’t even suggested GI one iron supplements.

My doctor also suggested this for my daughter. The cdc also says from 4-6 months that their iron supply drops. I can’t find any I’m comfortable with giving her so I just try and give her iron rich foods when she wants to eat them.

Thanks ladies ! I’ll ask the pediatrician at the end of the month at our appt I just remember with my first baby we gave engamil supplement with iron and it was staining everything ! I don’t eat a lot of meat so maybe that’s why doc advised to do it while bf ?

You don’t need any supplement unless doctor draws a blood work and finds deficiencies. Mine got bit d and iron during her time in nicu based on her blood work. But doctors stopped it a few months after coming home. Breast milk was enough.
