Endometriosis Diagnosis
As I am reading through all posts about endometriosis I am wondering if I should get a second opinion. When I was 16 I was diagnosed with endometriosis and immediately started on birth control to manage the symptoms without any ultrasounds or laparoscopic surgeries. I had all the symptoms of endo. The severe pain in the lower abdomen and lower back, heavy bleeding, nausea, vomiting migraines. It was absolutely horrible. Each month I would lose weight because I couldn’t even keep water down without throwing up.The symptoms I experienced during my period I felt stripped me of my life. I’ve been on birth control for 5 years now and it has given me a sense of relief. I feel like I can live freely but, I always have this sense of doubt because I feel like I can’t depend on hormonal birth control forever. I can’t stop thinking about the side effects of hormonal birth control when I’m ready to have kids. Also, do I really have endo even though I didn’t get an exam to confirm this diagnosis?
