First pet?

I want to get the girls their first pet that isn’t a dog lol I want to get them started on how to feed them and learning responsibility lol and also what they look like in real life, so should I get them a fish or a hamster?? 🤔

I am all about a fish... Simply the maintenance for you and the smell. Maybe they are into it. Maybe they are not, you can manage a fish easier than a hamster.

Hermit crabs make good first pets! They can interact a bit with you and don’t really have a strong smell. You can also put different shells in their habitat so they can look different if they decide to change their shell. Haha

It really depends on the age of the kid and how responsible they are. My daughters first pet (that she is solely responsible for) were bearded dragons. She's getting a fish tank now too but they are more work then you would expect
