Borderline fetal ventriculomegaly? Any one heard of this? 20 week anatomy scan. 😓

Just got back from my anatomy scan, everything was perfect except they want me to have a level 2 ultrasound because there was a ventricle in her brain that was boarderline enlarged...my doctor told me not to freak out and if it was her baby she wouldn’t be concerned, how can I not freak out? Has anyone ever heard of this?

Just had our 20wk scan this morning and they have said the 3rd ventricle is slightly enlarged and referred us for a high def ultrasound at the regional hospital in a few days. Have cried all afternoon and google is not my friend. I know that no one can say for sure if things will be ok but I can’t stop thinking the worst. 
She mentioned they seem to have had a spell of these recently, some worse than ours, that have resolved but I can’t bare the thought of something being wrong this late in the pregnancy 😢

I have a meeting with MFM Thursday. My baby has a ventricle measuring 10.3.. freaking out..

Did they say which ventricle it was? Lateral, third or fourth? Do you know what they measured it as? My daughter was diagnosed with an enlarged 3rd ventricle of 4mm yesterday. Apparently they can spontaneously resolve but I’m so scared

We just had our follow up to our anatomy scan for the same thing as well. We are scheduled for an MRI when I'm 29/30 weeks to check it again. The docs were so nonchalant but I cried all day. Praying God will heal our babies and all will be fine! 🙏🙏

Ventriculomegaly is the enlargement of the ventricles of the brain. These ventricles contain cerebrospinal fluid which protects the brain and spine. Sometimes, CSF can become trapped within these ventricles, causing them to enlarge. There are mild to severe cases, with a majority of them resolving in utero. It seems like your doctor did not seem concerned because it was only borderline enlargement. They will most likely monitor it to see if the ventricles continue to enlarge. Try not to worry mama.  If you are ever questioning something or very concerned about a result, call your doctor and talk to them about it.
