Too many baby clothes??

How many clothes is too many babies clothes? 🙈 I got three giant bags of baby clothes from a friend and I’m currently going through them and I like so many of them! But I feel like I definitely don’t need as many as I actually like... uggh how do I pick what to keep and how many clothes do I actually need?

Make sure the seasons make sense if you live somewhere that the climate changes. I live in Minnesota so it’s pointless to have a bunch of shorts that would fit baby during the winter months. Other than that, I had tons of baby clothes. There are some things she never wore but between spit ups and poop, babies need new outfits often. Now she’s 8 months and drools through clothes so fast.

I would keep them all, you never know if you’re going to have a messy baby. My baby spit up a lot, I got multiple bags of clothes from a friend too and I used them all. My baby would go through 3 or more outfits a day.

Personally, I’d keep everything. My kids never went through multiple outfits in a day BUT my 8 month old now is in 12 month clothes 🤷🏻‍♀️ she was in 6 month clothes at 3 months lol 😆 Sooo everything I got, I kept. I used everything. Outfits different each day for mine but only 1-2 a day. They never really got super dirty...

I would separate everything by size. Then choose 18-24 daytime outfits and 8-10 PJs that you like best and wash them. If you need more, go to the bag with the size you need and pick a few more. Once baby graduates, donate to the next lucky recipient or sell on consignment (or store if you’re planning more kids). 
I had this issue with my first bc my mom’s hobby was shopping for baby clothes at consignment sales  and she bought tons of cute things that were like new. I had so much I was overwhelmed. This time, I only accepted items I really liked (e.g., said no thanks to PJs that snap and most “fancy” items), and I’m using the above approach so I don’t have too much to select from when I need to dress baby. It’s working well for me.

Keep them. If after the baby is grown out of those sizes, then consign or give them away. You’d be surprised how many outfits you go through.
