Mastitis??!!!!

I think I’m starting to get mastitis my right breast it super soar on the bottoms right side of it this happened when I started breast feeding on the other side but not this bad. It’s soar to the touch. What can I do to help get rid of it. I really do not want to lose my supply and have to stop breast feeding

Keep breastfeeding on the affected side. Massaging it and a warm compress help as well.

It could just be a clogged duct. Try applying heat for like 15 min before nursing and while baby nurses on the side. Gently press the sore area while baby nurses. If it’s a clogged duct, this is likely to dislodge the clog and you will feel relief fairly quickly. Mastitis is a bacterial infection and typically is accompanied by a swollen, inflamed (reddish) area on the breast. You likely will run a fever and have body aches and feel generally like crap with mastitis. The only way to recover is a visit to the doctor (maybe telehealth right now) and a course of antibiotics. If you have mastitis symptoms, don’t delay medical treatment. It’s a pretty miserable thing to go through and the earlier you get treated the better.

Try to feed baby with their chin at the sore spot. I read that where the chin is is where most milk is pulled from the ducts.

You might have to see your OB and get on antibiotics. I had a mastitis and it sucked just have baby or your husband try to clear out the clogged duct and apply warm compress and massage your boob. Try buying this I bought it at target I’ve read this helps a lot.
