Short vacation advice?

Me and my SO want to go on a 4 day vacation by a lake but we’re not sure how to go about it. We’re also not trying to spend a lot of money. 
Would renting and sleeping in an RV be preferable to Airbnb or something? Cost or comfort wise? Because then we wouldn’t have to rent a car... We don’t want to sleep in actual tents or a cabin. 
We’ve never went on a vacation before so any advice at all would be great!

When ever we go camping we always have a tent... and we bring a cooler and have hamburgers and hotdogs and stuff to make s’mores and mountain pies. And for breakfast we either make pancakes or French toast. We cook on the fire...
But depending on what you’re in to some camp sites have where you can rent cabins and if you didn’t want to cook on the fire there are we usually fast food places, diners, and a there might even be a snack shoppe at or near the camp ground!

I’m a huge AirBnB fan! We’re actually going to a lake vacay in about 4 hours and staying at one.
I recently looked into RV rentals when I heard there’s a website like AirBnB but for RV’s.

I don’t have to worry about renting a car so I didn’t calculate that expense but it was SOOO much cheaper to get an AirBnB￼ than an RV!!! Also I’m not sure how old you are but a lot of RVs you have to be 30 y/o to rent- whereas if you rent a car you have to be 25 y/o but and some companies will let someone who’s 23 or 24 and has a good driving record rent them if they pay an underage driver fee￼￼. And then I had to think about if I actually would feel comfortable driving one and I personally would not.
Most of this I’m sure will be relative to the area you live in and the area you want to travel to.￼ 
There is also an app where people rent out their own personal vehicles. I’m not sure what the prices are like? Personally if I had to rent a car it would be from a company that has a customer service number that I can call at 2am if the car breaks down somewhere.￼￼
