My 1 month old might have diarrhea? Looks like it’s slimy & medium size white things? I was told if it looks grainy then that’s fine but these are a little bit bigger than usual.

My baby started to get dark green slimy looking poos at 2 weeks.  She's now 7 weeks and according to the doctor, may have developed secondary lactose intolerance due to a tummy bug at 2 weeks when it initially started. As a result, I am now on a lactose free diet while her poo is sent off for analysis and I'm seeing an improvement already. My doctor told me that slimy poo can indicate infection. (I exclusively breastfeed)

Are you breastfeeding? BF baby poop is slimy-ish and the lumpy things are fat from your milk is what I’ve always been told!

Diarrhea is never “Normal.” Usually if it’s continues after 24 hours, you want to contact your pediatrician. You could contact them just to see what to do if you want.
