Can you share your induction stories?

My sister in law is getting Induced tomorrow night and I would like to give her some other experiences to hopefully ease her mind.

My induction was because my son stopped growing at 37weeks and was 14 hours from when we walked in until I had my son. I went in and they did vitals and checked my cervix, had me sign paperwork. Then they placed a tablet on my cervix to ripen it so that I would start dilating. I had mild contractions a few hours later. They broke my water because I stopped dilating at 6, gave me the epidural at 7cm when the contractions started getting worse, and then I went from 7cm to 10cm in about half an hour, pushed for about five minutes, and my son was here. It was honestly easier than my second labor, which was 13hours but riddled with uncertainty about what would be happening next. With the induction I at least had a game plan to follow. And honestly I slept through most of the early labor stuff with the cervical tablet.

I was induced at 40 weeks 5 days due to low fluids
My midwife inserted cervidil at 6pm on Thursday. I felt no cramps or anything for awhile. At exactly midnight Thursday contractions started at 5 minutes apart.
Labor for me wasn’t long. I labored in my bed for 1 hour. Then I moved to the shower (I was having bad back contractions). I was in the shower for 30 minutes. Around 2 am I moved to the tub. At 3:30 am I started pushing and my son was born at 4:16am Friday!

Well I was induced because my water broke but waant in labor. They started me on pitocin at 9am. I was in labor until 1:30am which is when I began pushing for 2.5 hours. The contractions were terrible starting around 2pm, before that they were easily manageable.

I was induced twice. The first time they started on Sunday night and I had my daughter on Tuesday night. The second time I had my baby just shy of 24 hrs later. It’s a process. It’s often not a quick process, but that depends on how much had naturally happened before being induced. I would tell her to have an open mind to the process and be patient. It will be worth it.

I was induced at 37 weeks because of cholestasis. Cervidil was put in around 9 that morning (I was not even a finger dilated) and went home. At around 1pm I started getting light contractions. Felt like random period cramps. By nighttime, they were like bad period cramps, and ranged from every 5-17 minutes all night. Cervidil was taken out the next morning (now 3cm dilated) and I was sent home to labour. By this point it was worse than period cramps, but I could still talk through them. I decided to try for a nap around 1pm, but first, I had my bloody show, got cleaned up, then tried to lay down AGAIN only to have my water break. Let me tell you, the feeling of contractions changed dramatically after that. Without the cushy water layer, you really feel that baby down there! She was a nice girl though. I could feel her head nudge me about 5 seconds before each contraction started so I had time to get in position to rock back and forth. Had to go back to hospital to get an IV because I was gbs+, and I was still only 3cm. So around 5:30 I got my epidural and started on pitocin. I was ready to try for a nap around 9, so my midwife checked my progress before I slept. 10cm. No sleep again! Started pushing at 9:50 with just my hubby, midwife and OB. Was nice and as relaxing as pushing out a baby can be. Epidural was a godsend! Baby was out in 18 minutes. She needed some oxygen because of her fast birth but great otherwise. Tiny and perfect.
