How to tell friend you’re pregnant???

I have a close friend who recently had an ectopic pregnancy. She found out she was pregnant one day and had pains the next. She had to have part of her uterus removed and one of her ovaries. Well here i am pregnant and I want to share the news with her but I don’t want her to feel a certain way because of what she went through and the possibility that she’ll never be able to birth a child.
Any advice?

Just make sure she finds out from you instead of mutual friends or social media. I would maybe grab lunch and talk to her in person. Just be gentle with the talk, she might get upset but just understand and be there for her.

Sometimes texting is easier. Telling her “hi friend, I have some news to share with you, but know it’s a hard/sensitive subject and I wanted you to be able to feel any emotions you need to without feeling like you have to put on a brave face. I’m pregnant, I’m x weeks along and I wanted to share the news with you and I wanted it to come from me. I felt a text would be best so you could process tour feelings in your own time. I hope you’re healing and I wish all the best for you. I’d love to get coffee or lunch some time. Let me know when a good time for you would be” kinda deal coffee/ lunch right now might not be ideal but who knows. It tells her you care about her, her loss, her future, and her feelings but it also gets your news to her and explains why you’re telling her over text and not in person (aside from COVID).

Tell her ASAP but don’t make it a huge deal. She might try to overdo it with the excitement, but it’ll likely be a facade because you know she’s hurting a lot inside. I’d quickly change the subject after letting her know. The more you talk about it (even if she seems to be ok) the more sadness she’s going to feel. 
For example: “oh btw I’m actually pregnant” 
“Awww congrats! How far along are you!” 
“Thank you. 7 weeks. Anyways I’ve been meaning to ask you about your ______”
