Will you be sending your child to preschool if/when schools open?

Having a hard time deciding. I really want my almost 5 year old to have social interaction but will it traumatize him being his first school experience? Ugh!

I’ve been tracking the daily numbers by zip code and will decide depending on those numbers.  As of right now my little area (including 2 neighboring zip codes which feed into the same school system) is adding over 50 new cases every single day, so it’s a definite NO at the moment.

We are planning to and have already paid but I’m also watching the numbers and will need to connect with the other families in his class before feeling more comfortable with it. We have a newborn arriving in August, which is terrible timing for this.

My child is scheduled to start pre-k in September and is supposed to receive speech therapy. I am nervous and I will see where things are by then. The daycare my kids attended has not actually closed during all of this.

I want to know what are the safety precautions your schools are taking? My 4 year old son is supposed to start pre k and  I don’t feel good about the orientation call. They are taking temperatures and if anyone tests positive for covid they will close school for two weeks, which is all good. But they are only washing the cots/beds once a week. I’m not ok with that. Kids are not required to wear a mask and I’ve taught my son to wear one, but I don’t want him to be the only one. 
So what are they doing at your schools? What are your thoughts?

Our schools are open now but it’s optional whether to send them or not, but from September when it’s a new school term, we’ll be fined if we don’t send them
