How do you calculate DPO?

This May sound stupid but I don’t think I’m calculating my DPO right .. 
I don’t ever test for ovulation , just kind of go based off this app. But I’m wondering if anyone can help me calculate my DPO correctly . Thank you !

You’d have to had taken a test of some sort to be certain. Even the app could possibly be off. But you just count the days past ovulation. For example: if your O day was 6/6 then you’d be 5dpo. Hope that helps.
