How to DIY paint a dresser?

So my MIL gave us a really big nice dresser fir our nursery. It’s tan, kinda glossy looking.  I want to paint it grey to match the theme. How do i do it? Do I paint it or could I spray paint it?

Answer

It’s going to require some effort if you want it to look good and hold up to wear and tear. If you can, sand it. Use primer, especially if you can’t sand it! Get a good quality paint and brush. Make sure it’s dust free! Be patient, VERY patient. On the final coat of paint, you might still be seeing brush strokes. Sometimes they look worse wet, than when they dry. If it dries with strokes, do another coat, but thin it with a little water. Coat it with a poly or lacquer coat for extra protection and ease of cleaning. 
That’s kinda the short of it. I’ve done a few pieces and have learned a lot along the way, especially about cutting corners!

You can do either, but if you paint it with regular paint you will have to sand it first
