My father in law has said some small things that rubbed me the wrong way but I let them go, as did my husband.
However when he full on told us I wasnt good enough for my hysband and he deserved better my husband defended me and stood up for me.

girl my baby father family the same way they don’t not like me at all i’m quite ,very pretty and smart and that’s something his ex’s could never be his sisters and aunties thought i was to stuck up for my baby father .Doing family events his ex came around and she would say “mom” to my baby father mother and his sisters called her sister.  i never felt no type of way.I was fine until his family found out i was pregnant his sister made a post on instagram like the baby not his the aunt told me face to face “ i’m not saying abortion it but .....” tryna be funny and i cried but my baby father was always there for me , he checked his family. and he defend me. when the ex came around he paid no attention to her and was all about me making sure i was okay , i ate ,I never had to worry about no one . Long as your boyfriend is beside you defending you , his family opinion do not MATTER ! girl fuck them ! and if your man can’t defend you girl fuck him tooo !

I didn't see that he doesn't defend you until I read it again. If get over their opinions of me. I've honestly had more than my fair share of agro from my in laws but I would not accept that behaviour from my husband. I fully expect him to take my side. When we were first going out he didn't really know how to stand up to them so there were honestly times where he didn't and it hurt but he learned to stand up for himself and me. His family did not like it one bit and reacted very aggressively but now they know we are a united front, we are a family and my husband will take stand by me so they can't do that shit anymore. We literally cut them ó it of our lives for a while because it got so toxic, it was constant phone calls and abuse to try to get him to capitulate to them. In the end we stuck our ground and now we talk to his mam again but not his sister or her husband. We have learned to keep a safe distance as familiarity can breed contempt and so far its been going quite well. It was a long road but we got there. I don't think I'd have stayed with him if he wouldn't defend me. I mean don't get me wrong if I'm in the wrong I expect to be called out on my bulls**t too but allowing them to treat you that way should never be acceptable. With my ex I went off on them but honestly it won’t help just leave him.. my husbands family loves me and I’m so thankful I didn’t settle for my toxic ex or his toxic ass family... if he won’t defend you then it isn’t worth it.. my husband would cut off anyone in his family if they offended me because he is just that loyal.. I however would never allow him to because I don’t feel that is right either 😓 same goes for me 🤷‍♀️ but also my husband would never trash talk me in front of his family because if he did then obvi they wouldn’t like me and he learned from his mistakes with his ex
