When could your child count to 10?

My daughter is 18-months-old and she only says a handful of words, but she appears to be understanding a lot. We practice counting and she will point to only one finger when she “counts,” but doesn’t say the numbers yet. 
I just saw a video of another toddler verbally count to 10 and she is about one month older than my daughter (around 19-20 months). 😳
I know you’re not supposed to compare, but it makes me worried my daughter could be behind. 😭 We read a lot everyday, count, and do flash cards (common objects, animals, colors, shapes, etc).

She is not behind!  My second learned numbers and letters way before my first did, but my firstborn is now totally caught up.  They all learn at different speeds!

Every kid is different it’s not a mile stone until 2-3 actually. Please don’t worry about it.

Just try to teach how to say her the memorization of 1-10 , then praise her for saying it correctly. From there you can slowly show her how the phrase is individual numbers. My son learned how to verbally "count to 10" at 18 months but didn't learn how to actually count 1-10 objects until much later.

My daughter didn’t until she was 2.5 years old & had started preschool, she’s now 3.5 & hasn’t really added any more numbers, she’ll count to 12 & then just start skipping & mixing up the rest. I’m not worried, I count things in books & in our daily life w/ her, she’ll get it eventually

My oldest will be 4 in November. Can he regurgitate the numbers 1-10? When he feels like It. But mostly he finds It uninteresting and likes to mix them up. Can he physically count on 10 items? Yes. Lol and all of this happened within the last year. I used to get concerned but then I was like. He’s a child. He doesn’t really need the concept of counting right now. He won’t not count forever. He learns things he’s interested in. He’s been teaching me about species of dinosaurs and weather for 2 years and potty trained before he was 2. 
Let your child be a child. Don’t worry about others. Unless your baby is applying for a job at a bank soon I wouldn’t worry 🤣

My 3 year old is learning to read right now, she’s very interested in letters. Numbers? Forget about it! She can count to 20 something (probably since she was a a few month shy of 3),  she will count how many tomatoes she’s eating and so on, but still doesn’t want to work on identifying numbers. She has no interest whatsoever 🤷‍♀️

Lol. My 19 mo old can say mom and bar because he loves fig bars... That's it 😂 my first was also that slow and he's reading sight words now at 3. I think every babe is on their own pace but yours is definitely doing great!

My 2 year old can count to five, but after five she gets the numbers mixed up. My 5 year old didn't count to 10 until much later. All kids learn at different paces

Nope I have a 2 year old that doesnt know how to count to 10 some number in a row she gets and my oldest didnt til close to 3

She is not behind. She doesn't need to count to 10 and the one that is is more than likely just repeating. Being able to consecutively say numbers is not counting. This is equivalent to parents who brag about a kids high reading level, but have a low or at level comprehension level, which reqlly is the part that matters. Like great your 5 year old can read a big word at a fluent level, but do they know the meaning of the word and message being conveyed ?
