Is getting a crib or bassinet a waste of money? Should we just get a DockATot? 
First time parents over here and we currently have one income. Husband was in transition between jobs right when Corona Virus happened and it’s been so tough. Trying to save money where we can. Thanks in advance for the advice, mommas!! ♥️🥰

I did a convertable crib. We took the rail off so it could be a sidecar to our bed to make nursing easier.

Here in Australia dockatot’s are not recommended for unsupervised sleeping as they can cause SIDS. A normal cot or travel cot would be perfectly fine and last you fee years ☺️

If anything the dockatot is the bigger waste of money. It’s so unnecessary and babies outgrow them quickly

If you want to save money and not have too many stuff, a crib or a portable crib, is the only thing you need at all.
If I remember correctly, you can not let baby sleep safely in docadot. You need to monitor the baby all the time. Because it has thick cloth walls that are choking hazard.

Id say a crib,  the dock a tot is great but baby will grow out of it super fast and youll end up having to buy a crib or a playpen anyway...plus some cribs you can convert to toddler bed later on so it keeps working for a long while.

We have a crib and an Arms Reach Cosleeper for by the bed. I might be the only person in the world who is not a fan of the pack n play but they’re too bulky for by my bed.
