Is it ok to only use condoms during sex and not be on the birth control pill?

I am 20 and have been sexually active for about two years. I have used condoms and have not fallen pregnant. My sister keeps nagging me about it and telling me I should get on BC or I will end up pregnant. I know friends who are on BC and it caused them bad side affects. I do not want to hormonally alter my body so I use condoms instead. Is there any thing wrong with that?

Condoms are very effective when used correctly. But they sometimes break or other things can go wrong.  If you know something went wrong you can take a plan b, which is like a giant dose of bc. 
Definitely it's safer to be on bc AND use condoms to prevent pregnancy. But that is your choice. 
Personally bc helped make my periods easier to manage and I didn't have bad side effects. But not everyone has the same experience.

I solely use condoms because every birth control pill I’ve tried, I have had serious side effects and I’m sick of messing with my body. 
Not everyone can be on birth control, if you can’t make sure you protect yourself. Condoms are good.

If you use condoms correctly every time, from start to finish, you should be fine. If you do not use condoms correctly every time, from start to finish, you may want birth control as an extra layer of protection.

Def good to be only with condoms. Birth control can be bad for some women. I quit it 3 years ago and I will never get hormones again. Was never feeling bad about the BC but when I quit I saw how different it impacts my body composition. Some ladie get low libido, cellulite, water retention, mood swing. Just use condom but ALWAYS! I never had a ripped condom in my life, I am 34.

I've been using it for 4 years now, and never fell pregnant, thankfully. Just make sure he won't to inside of you unless he's wearing one. I've been waiting for all the pandemic end to be put on another type of BC (probably IUD) to use WITH a condom because I do not want kids at all.

If you're using condoms correctly every time, the increase in protection is only like 1-3%, depending on which study you look at. It's incorrect usage that makes them "worse" for protection. 
I had bad effects from long-term hormonal BC use, and I don't recommend it unless there are other health considerations. 
There are non-hormonal options to look into though. I'm not super familiar, but I'd definitely chat with a doctor about all the options, so you know what all there is.

You can get pregnant using BC only 🤣🤣 honestly, I've only used condoms with my husband, we have been together for 9 years and we had 0 accidents.
We only got pregnant twice because we wanted to.
On a personal point of view, i will never use the BC again. I did when i was younger and what it can do to you is fucked up. And having migraine, it gives me a higher risk of stroke or heart attack so hell to the no 😒
