Home birth??

Hey ladies, has anyone on here had a home birth? I want to hear both positive / negative stories!

I had an unplanned home birth with #1 due to a precipitous birth (a birth that is 3 hours or shorter) and looking back, I loved how low/no intervention it was and how I was able to go with the flow and listen to my own body. I didn't have anybody telling me to push, anybody checking my cervix, I wasn't tied up to monitors so I could move wherever I wanted to, etc. My plan for baby #2 is to birth at our local birth center and I'm excited about that as well even though it isn't a home birth. Because of my history of precipitous labor, I will likely have another quick delivery. My first was 2 hours and 15 minutes from start to finish and a birth center is the perfect place for me given the freedom I have under care of my midwives.

I haven’t yet. but have just been reading the book ‘why home birth matters’ and found it super interesting to help weigh up the pros and cons.
