Birthday gifts?

😆 I'm always the one making this post for holidays and birthdays...But uhhh What are we all getting our August kids for their 3rd birthdays? 
I feel like my kid already has every toy or some type of variation. I was thinking maybe a bike? But he doesn't seem all that interested so I wasn't sure if it would be a hit or not.

I was going to make this post a few weeks ago but I thought it might be too early? I'm a huge fan of giving/gifting experiences, especially for kids that have "everything" but with all that's going on its kind of hard to do that this year. With that said,, we are still planning on taking our son fishing and out on a boat for swimming and tubing on his birthday. My sons not super excited about his strider bike so I found a 16" bike on Craigslist that if he uses great, if not, its whatever since it was dirt cheap. Ill spend good money when he's older and more committed!!  We are building a sandbox for him w new Tonka machines. He's also requested a colorful ice cream cake and crab legs for his bday dinner. We will also got him a mega pack of water balloons, some new art supplies and a spider web swing (seriously, these things are awesome) I wanted the one for adults haha..  Both my husband's family and mine spoil the absolute heck out of my kids so thats about it for what we will be getting him this year.

My daughter too has almost every type of toy. We got her more play doh sets, a new bike which we gave to her last night, a soccer ball, a baby with clothes and bottle, nail polishes and dress up stuff, a blue tooth microphone, and a hot wheels track. May have went a little overboard but it’s so much fun shopping lol.

I’m honestly so picky about toys so my son doesn’t have a ton. But I recently got him some of those magnetic tiles and he loves them! I’m looking at some building blocks as well. Mainly anything open ended. My son has also been super into taking pictures so I think I’m going to order him a little camera on amazon. He’s also super into board games, even though he’s a little young, there’s some that he can understand so probably a game as well.

We are thinking of dress up stuff, karaoke machine, and learning to read type toys. My mom is getting her this pen that reads words in the books as you go over them. I dont really know what else to get because she has so much already and almost always is bored unless I'm playing with her so it seems pointless to add more toys lol 😂

I think we’re getting him a watch ($10 one) he’s super into both of ours and telling us the numbers he sees. Some books, a sleeping bag for camping trips, and possibly Disney annul passes if we decide to renew again this year. (Depending on Covid ) 
But agree no more toys.. I just can’t with toys right now... we have way to many.

Honestly, our kids has way too much crap. And family is always giving us more toys 🤦🏽‍♀️ My son will still recall trips and activities from over a year ago (it boggles my mind how much their little brains retain as far as experiences) - so I think our ‘gift’ will be more experience-based. Not sure what though 🧐 He keeps asking to go camping - it’s just been a bit tough with a 6 month old.

We're planning to buy a Woom 2 14 inch bike when they're back in stock, but they probably won't be shipping until September, but that's her birthday present. She's never ridden a bike so we're going to remove the pedals and let her do it balance bike style for a little bit, then put them back on when she's figured out balancing. 
On her actual birthday we'll probably just do a bunch of balloons, cake, and just making the whole day about her and having fun. 
Also, I'm going to be honest, I really want to get her a new phone, but everyone thinks I'm nuts 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ we're a very pro-screen time family, and she's getting really good at using her old used iPhone but I want to get her one of the newer water resistant ones because she's still a dummy who is liable to try to give her phone a bath 😂 we'll probably stick with just the bike for now
