Need help. How do I refinish rush weave?

You can see how dirty and discolored our rush weave is. How do we clean it up and get it to look brand new? Seems like nothing is working and replacing it would cost a fortune.

Go underneath the chair and see if you can take the woven part out by unscrewing the nails underneath! Go to Walmart and pick out fabric to just put over the top of the woven part and sew it back in! BOOM

Did you try washing it with baking soda and vinegar? If that doesn’t work and you can’t get it clean, you can either replace the seat portion with a wood seat, or, redo the seats with a jute type cording. It’s really easy to make a bench or chair out of “rope” if you use the right kind and keep it tight. Look on Pinterest

I bet Google would have better answers but I would imagine a small brush like a tooth brush and denatured alcohol since it evaporates quickly would work well to get dirt/grime out. Im not sure what you would use to actually refinish it though, maybe linseed oil?
