Irregular Period While TTC

I am trying to get pregnant now that my little one is 17 months. I nursed her for the first year and didn't get a period until she was just over 15 months old and it came every two weeks for a month and a half. Now I am 5 days late from when I expected to get it but am getting negative pregnancy tests. Has anyone been in a similar situation?
