How is this posible? peak LH while pregnant

Im currently 5 weeks pregnant and out of curiosity I decided to test my LH. I got a peak today and also a positive HCG. I thought you don’t produce LH while pregnant. How did this happen?

The test can not differentiate between the LH and HCG hormones. So yes. You can definitely get a positive OPK when pregnant which is why so many woman get confused on if they can use an LH strip in place of a pregnancy strip. LH does spike (not always to the point of a positive opk) before we get our period also. In your case it's just the HCG making it positive. Congrats!!!

From my understanding it picks up estrogen and progesterone which also rise while pregnant so this should always be the case when someone is pregnant. I’ve heard of some women using OPK as pregnancy tests also because of this reason. I tried it and got the same result.

Opks can pick up the pregnancy hormones I used one when I thought I was pregnant and got a peak so the. I took a preggo test and sure enough!

Interesting. That’s the exact same color I got this past cycle when I reached my peak and stayed like that for about three days. 
I wonder if everyone gets a positive LH while pregnant or just a few.
