Bleach smell in cloth diapers
My son has a yeast diaper rash so I needed to bleach his diapers. I did a 30 min bleach soak, properly diluted to 3/4 cup to a full load. Then I did a hot water rinse, and then a hot water wash with detergent. After both of those hot water cycles, my diapers and inserts still had a faint smell of bleach. Is that normal/okay? I started a second hot wash with detergent to try and get the bleach smell out. After the second hot wash with detergent on heavy, the smell was still very faint but present. I decided to put them in the dryer because I didn’t want to keep using a bunch of hot water. I’m just nervous that when he pees in them, the ammonia in his urine might mix with the possibly leftover bleach residue and cause problems?? 😢
