Potty training?

Has anyone started potty training their 22 month old yet? My daughter had a rash so we decided why not give it a try. We are on day 2 and she has peed in the potty once, other then that she holds it in and doesn’t wanna sit in the potty. She gets the concept she just wants to stand to pee for some reason.

She basically started potty training on her own. She has a sister about 2 years older and just wanted to be like her and started asking to sit on the potty about 3 months ago. She hates being in a poopy diaper so almost always will tell us when she has to poop. With pee sometimes she will tell us, but usually we have to ask her. We don’t push her at all. Some days I’ll encourage her to sit on the potty 10+ times, other days it only happens a handful of times. She’s in pull ups just to make it easy to try and go so many times. 
I think modeling behavior is key. Without an older sister, I just had the older one come to bathroom with me every time I went and talked about the process and we listened to the noises. I also just take a verrry slow laid back approach to potty training. Just let them take the lead knowing it honestly lasts until they’re around 4 to be able to do everything on their own and hold it all night.

My daughter has shown intrest. Some days she pees all day on her potty other days she doesnt want anything to do with it. I think she models her older sibling. But I dont push it, shes not 2 yet my older child didnt potty train till 2.5 almost 3. I figure she has the concept of what to do and she'll decide  to do it full time when she's  ready.

I potty trained my daughter at 20 months. I used the “oh Crap: potty training” method from Jaime Glowacki. My daughter was very resistant for about a week then I finally figured it out and she had very few accidents from there. 
I’d be surprised if the issue is your daughter wants to pee standing up, but not totally out of the realm of possibility. I would probably test the theory by giving her choices of appropriate places to pee. Standing in a bathtub or shower could be one. I had a pee-pee tree outside where she was allowed to pee if she wanted. Then once you nail that you can work on the sitting part slowly (if your daughter does well with those and can actually pee in those designated spots, because she’s learning about holding it and going to the place when she gets the feeling that she needs to pee, etc). That’s just my advice though and I haven’t had the same issues as you. But feel free to write back if you have more things you’d like to discuss. I had a miserable first week but then smooth sailing and I’m so glad we did it.
