It’s ok but almond milk purchased from a store doesn’t have much to it.  Anyway, the recommendation to have cows milk is because of the fat and cholesterol.  Babies at that age really need that fat and cholesterol which can easily come from animal milk, butter, cheese, yogurt, etc.  But of course baby can get it in other ways.  But if you are opting for vegetarian options, maybe consider coconut milk instead.  Definitely talk to your doctor first and find out about allergies and be watchful for deficiencies.

The only recommended plant milks for toddlers/small children are soy or pea. Most don't have the right nutritional profile.
