Me and my ex broke up after 3 years.. then found out I’m pregnant.

He’s 100% supportive and prioritizes me and the baby which I think is great. So who knows what the future holds.

However... we were never married and currently aren’t together. I brought it up to him yesterday and he didn’t seem too happy. We never fight so he kept his cool but I could see it in his face lol I felt really bad.

BUT, my reasoning is that I have an older son from a previous relationship who has my last time. I would really really like for my kids to have the same last name. Also as the mother, I will primarily be responsible for medical, legal and school records.. it just seems less complicated.

I offered to hyphenate it. He’s trying to process, view things from my perspective and trying understand why it bothers him so much. I don’t think he liked the idea of hyphenating either.
