Constantly asking me about weight gain

Hi ladies,

So I’m trying desperately to be grateful to have the support of my parents and they will be wonderful grandparents but every time we speak something else grates on my nerves.

They live out of state and we haven’t seen each other since I was 12 weeks pregnant. I’m 19 weeks now but, basically ever since finding out I was pregnant, I am constantly asked how much weight I’ve gained and if I have a bump yet and then compared to a family friend’s daughter who apparently “blew up” when she was 6 months pregnant and her doctor told her to stop gaining weight.

I don’t know why, but I absolutely HATE being asked if I’ve gained weight (I haven’t btw - I gained back the 4-5lbs I lost the first trimester from nausea). Otherwise, I still look mostly normal and my doctor is very pleased with my weight. This is my first baby and their first grandchild. I just hate feeling like I am under a microscope.

I dread calling home to be constantly bombarded with questions. All I care about is to have a healthy baby. Anyone have any good tips on how to deflect questions that is nobody’s business but mine?
